FINALLY FINISHED!!

officially finished with the school semester yestersday. I can honestly say it was a great semester and great year. Props to my instructors Ariel A. and Dave G. for helping me along. Here are some renders of the finished Dominance War character i created from the ground up.

If you are familiar with dominance war rules you know that the character needs to be under 10,000 polys using one 2048 size texture map. It was hard to create the level of detail i wanted with those limitation but i think it came out great.

Vlad Dracul the Impaler

Anyone remember the awesome 1991 Bram Stoker's Dracula movie? Its one of my faves and i decided to decorate a wooden saki box with my rendition of the opening scene from the movie. Running along all for sides of the box in panoramic fashion i have painted in teeny tiny detail the dramatic battle scene where Dracula is impaling his Turkish soldiers by the dozen while wearing his seriously cool "muscle" armor. Whats more badass than that?... I cant think of anything either... so yeah. enjoy.

Exhibition in school newspaper

It was great to have my work up for other people to see this week (the piece can be seen at the bottom of this page). Its also great that the school newspaper took notice and decided to do a writeup on my piece along with a few others. And for the record, contrary to what it says in the article, this did not take 3 months to sketch and paint! I was misquoted :P

3D character update

Getting closer to the deadline of finishing this character. All modeling finished (below on right), working on sculpting nomal map details in zbrush (below on left). Zbrush is a headache, running into problems every step of the way, but i'm learning a ton, so its great.
